Association of Gym Owners of Attica (SIGA)

The Association of Gym Owners of Attica (SIGA) was founded in 1988. The purpose of SIGA, according to its statutes, is:

  • to develop ties, to promote the spirit of solidarity and to strengthen the relations between its members
  • to promote the industry and the interests of gyms
  • to highlight and solve the sector's problems
  • to provide all possible support to its members
  • to mobilize the fitness community
  • to provide accurate and timely information to its members
  • to promote the cultural, intellectual and social activation of its members
  • to collaborate with other clubs, associations, organizations, business and scientific bodies for the continuous and qualitative upgrade of the services provided by the gyms

Greek Association of Exercise Professionals (PASYEA)

The Greek Association of Exercise Professionals (PASYEA) is a non-profit collective body representing professionals in the field of Exercise and Fitness in particular.

The main goals of the Association are the promotion of Fitness (exercise for health and wellness) and of systematic physical activity for all ages in Greece, of fair play and the sporting ideals, and of social responsibility between of its members on the principles of democracy, freedom and human rights.

IEK Ippokrateios - Attico College

In 1978 Bona College was established as a private college of liberal studies offering courses in Beauty Therapy, Childhood Studies and Nursing. In 1990 Ippokratios School was introduced to the group and given recognition by the Greek state; it was the first private school recognized by the state for delivery of programmes in Nursing, Kinesitherapy, Childhood Studies and Child Care for Children with Special Needs. In 1993 IEK programs were introduced to the market to fill the gap between high school and public technical college, the equivalent at that time of NVQ2-4.

The college currently offers 40 such courses including Nursing, Obstetrics, Kinesitherapy, Childhood Studies, Computing, Business & Finance, Marketing, Beauty Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, Maritime Studies, Coaching, Sports Science, Sports Management, Dental Technician Studies, Hydrotherapy, Dietetics, Journalism, Advertising, Commercial Promotion & Marketing and Financial Support & Logistics. In 2003 Bona College forged links with Cambridge Regional College in the UK to offer students the opportunity to study to HND level in Speech Therapy, Psychology, Kinesitherapy, Dietetics, Obstetrics, Nursing and Beauty Therapy; in 2007 Bona College became ATTICO College, a rebranding that was timed with a change in direction in the higher education market and since 2010 ATTICO College has worked closely with the University of Plymouth and the University of St Mark & St John Plymouth.
